Why can't people just get along!!?

I mean, why can't an Atheist be an Atheist without a Christian there trying to convert them. Or a gay person be gay without a Christian Trying to tell them to repent. Why can't people just respect other people and just stay out of people's beliefs and stop trying to make them like you!?
